The Why and What -
We at the Church of Acts are committed to love; love for God and love for
neighbor. Jesus says that these constitute the greatest of all commandments in Matthew 22.
We believe that the basis and motivation for this twofold love is the love that God has given and
continues to give to us. Just as Jesus told his disciples after washing their feet in John 13: ¡°A new
command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.¡± We do
not claim to be perfect by any means, but we also know that love is not something that happens by
accident. Love must be a purposeful and conscious way of living; practiced in actions and not just
words. We invite you to join us on the journey of faith as we strive to love our God and to love those
that God has placed around us.
The Who -
The Church of Acts is a multi-ethnic, multi-generational congregation located in the heart
of Queens, just two blocks away from the 74th Street subway station and bus terminal. Our mother
church is a first-generation Korean church in the Presbyterian (PCUSA) tradition. Although
we certainly retain our Presbyterian heritage, we are not a ¡®Korean¡¯ English Ministry. Our membership
has seen every continent being represented as well as spanning a wide range of age groups.
The When and Where -
The church building is located at 71-17 Roosevelt Ave. Jackson Heights, NY.
We are conveniently located off Exit 40 on the BQE. We meet for worship every Sunday at 1:30PM in
the main Sanctuary. Refreshments and fellowship follow the service. There are Bible Study sessions at
